ARCHIVE POLICY

Al-Basyir: Journal of Islamic Education and Thought implements the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to ensure the sustainability and preservation of its scholarly publications. This system is designed to create a distributed archiving mechanism, allowing participating libraries to permanently store copies of journals. This system ensures that journals are not stored on a single publisher server, but are replicated across multiple locations, thus ensuring greater security against the risk of data loss due to technical failures, server outages, or other external factors. The use of LOCKSS also allows participating libraries to build a permanent digital archive, accessible at any time in the event of damage or loss of the primary archive. This ensures that the journal's existence remains intact over time, regardless of technological challenges or changes in digital platforms. This system also ensures that authors' scholarly work remains accessible to readers, researchers, and academics in the future. Furthermore, the implementation of LOCKSS in the management of Al-Basyir reflects the journal's commitment to maintaining academic integrity and its responsibility to preserve knowledge.

A secure permanent archive not only benefits the publisher but also supports open access and the sustainability of knowledge for future generations. With this system, Al-Basyir further strengthens its position as a professional and trusted journal focused on the sustainability of scientific publications in the field of Islamic Religious Education. Furthermore, Al-Basyir: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pikiran Islam (Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam) also takes strategic steps to ensure the accessibility and sustainability of its publication data by submitting all its content to various official indexing institutions and data centers. The journal is integrated with the National Library of Indonesia, which serves as a national reference and repository for scientific works. Thus, every published article is not only stored on the journal's server but also documented in an officially recognized national database. Furthermore, Al-Basyir is registered with Onesearch, an integrated search portal that makes it easy for users to find various information sources from libraries, educational institutions, and research institutions throughout Indonesia. The presence of articles in Onesearch makes published scientific works more easily found by readers from various groups.

Furthermore, the journal also submits its content to Garuda (Garba Referral Digital), a scientific journal indexing system managed by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education. With this integration, scientific works published by Al-Basyir can reach a wider audience and be recognized in the national system that collects academic publications from various universities and research institutions in Indonesia. Not only that, Al-Basyir also collaborates with other journal indexing institutions, both at the national and international levels, to ensure that every published article is accessible to a wide audience, easy to find, and has a significant contribution to the development of science, especially in the field of Islamic Education and Thought. This step demonstrates Al-Basyir: Journal of Islamic Education and Thought's commitment to prioritizing open access and data security, so that the resulting scientific publications are not only useful today, but also remain available, documented, and accessible to future generations of academics.
