Strategi Kepala Madrasah Dalam Optimalisasi Peran Guru Sebagai Role Model Di MA At-Tamimy Praya, Lombok Tengah

Abstract

This study aims to describe the madrasah principal's strategy in optimizing the role of teachers as role models at MA At-Tamimy Praya, Central Lombok, and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. Teachers, as the spearhead of education, not only serve as transmitters of knowledge but also as role models who have a significant influence on the formation of students' character. Therefore, the madrasah principal requires an appropriate strategy to optimize the role of teachers as role models in order to realize educational goals oriented towards character building and noble morals. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study approach. The research location was MA At-Tamimy Praya, Central Lombok. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research informants consisted of the madrasah principal, vice-principal, teachers, education staff, and students. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was tested through source triangulation, technical triangulation, and time triangulation. The research results show that the madrasah principal's strategy for optimizing teachers' roles as role models involves strengthening religious culture, developing teacher character and professionalism, implementing ongoing academic supervision, providing motivation and rewards, creating a harmonious work climate, and leading by example. Supporting factors include teacher commitment, a strong religious culture, foundation support, and good cooperation among the madrasah community. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include differences in teacher character, high administrative demands, and the influence of technological developments and social media on student behavior. The implementation of these strategies has had a positive impact on improving teacher professionalism and developing student character, as demonstrated by increased discipline, responsibility, religiosity, and positive behavior in daily life
